#BlogapieGamer | My Amiibo Shelf

I vowed to show my friend the awesome power of amiibo. There was no better way to do so other than showing her my humble amiibo collection. There are about twenty eight amiibo pictured, and my collection has grown ever since (and growing). Amiibo are prefect collectibles to line my gaming shelves, and they are useful in the games I play. I just can’t wait to add more to the group.

#BlogapieGamer | Pokken Tournament Pro Pads Are Cool!

Hello, everyone. Walapie Gamer (the Nintendo Archiver) here with another wonderful #BlogapieGamer post!

If you haven’t heard by now, the Nintendo Switch was updated to version 3.0. Check out the list of features at the link. The most important one to me is the ability to use the HORI branded Pokken Tournament Pro Pad.

Yes. Those controllers that used to work exclusively for Pokken Tournament for Wii U, and the upcoming Pokken Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch, now work with any game on the Nintendo Switch (some better than others; more on that in a second).

The only thing a Pokken Pro Pad needs is an available USB slot and WHAM! Games just work.

Of course, the Pokken Pro Pad does not have analog sticks and two of the shoulder buttons have been relocated to the center of the controller, but for games that require more of a Super Nintendo controller setup–four face buttons and two shoulder buttons–this controller works wonders.

Disgaea 5 Complete and King of Fighters ’98 work perfectly. The Directional Pad is big and solid and helps with movements in both games and awesome diagonals in the latter (which is important for a fighting game).

Overall, the Pokken Pro Pad is simply a sturdy controller with great build quality, nice big buttons, and a lengthy cord. It is a great retro focused controller.

I bought the standard version during Black Friday last year but went ahead and purchased the Pikachu edition the moment I read the 3.0 Switch update allowed the controller to be used.

I was really itching to get a new controller so I could play Puyo Puyo Tetris and the NEO GEO retro/fighting game catalog with more finesse and the Pokken Pro Pad helped me do so. I give my Bucket List approval for this nifty device.

Thanks for reading and see you next time, gamers!

Amiibo Hunter | The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Bokoblin

Amiibo Hunter | The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Bokoblin

Bokoblin Officially Hunted!

A wild Bokoblin appeared. On Amazon.

Well, I did see one in the wild at my local Target. Exactly one, to be exact. No more no less. It was hanging out with a gang of unsold Animal Crossing amiibo, waiting to be plucked by a true Zelda fan or amiibo collector. Luckily, I am both.

I even picked up the Bokoblin and carried it around with me, but I ultimately put it back in the name of being financial responsible. That is life, but I vowed to buy this little gremlin-goblin as soon as I could.

Flash forward three months later and over 200 hours played in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I wanted to snag this amiibo bad. Taking a trip to Target, Walmart, and Best Buy all ended with me being empty handed. But then, what happened to appear at a decent price on Amazon? This–

Yup. My very own Bokoblin amiibo at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (M.S.R.P.), too.

Just look at it.

LOOK AT IT!

Scary.

Even scarier? The price on Amazon jumped about fifty percent days after I bought mine. Geez. That was a close call.

Check out the rest of the pics from this amiibo pictorial on my Flickr page.

Thanks for reading and see you next time!

#BlogapieGamer | Check Out My Blue Snowball Mic

Welcome to another #BlogapieGamer, a gaming blog series that chronicles a behind-the-scenes look at my creative career.

#BlogapieGamer | Check Out My Blue Snowball Mic.

Today, I want to show you the mic I purchased.

I bought the Blue Snowball Mic from Amazon after doing a little research. I watched YouTube videos, read reviews, and price-compared before I bought the best quality mic I could get for a reasonable price.

I have been starting to use it regularly to record intros for my The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild playthrough videos, and I am very happy with the results and clarity. If anything sounds bad, that’s usually my lack of experience/incompetence at recording and editing audio rather than the quality of the mic. Ha!

STAY COOL WITH CLEAR AUDIO

The mic is large, sturdy, and feels like it can take a beating if I decided to lug it around in a backpack. I also really like the thick reinforced USB cable. So nice. So durable.

Over all, I would recommend this to anyone looking to record audio on a budget. I can’t wait to use it for future gaming projects, as long as time permits.

Thanks for reading and taking a look behind the scenes with me. See you next time!

Public Service Announcement: Stock Up on Wii Nunchuks!

Hello, everyone! Walapie Gamer, the Nintendo Archiver, here with a Public Service Announcement.

mii

I recommend stocking up on Nintendo Wii product especially the awesome Nunchuk accessory.  Oh. Why, you ask? With the Nintendo Switch out in the marketplace, and some inside of homes across the globe, new copies of older products will surely be hard to come by.

I’M ALL SET!

For those who want a brand new Nunchuk–or two or three, as you can see from my personal collection from the image above–I suggest checking the links below.

BEST BUY

Best Buy is selling these goodies for $11.99. Wow! What a steal. In fact, this is how I purchased my trio of brand new ‘chuks. They’re on clearance so snag them while the deal lasts.

AMAZON

Amazon has plenty hovering around (above and below) the $15.00 range. The lowest price I saw today was $12.92!!! Wow, again! Just check out the many third party sellers if you do not see one from Amazon directly. Still a good deal for a product with a suggested retail price of $19.99.

NINTENDO STORE

But if you do not mind a refurbished Nunchuk, you can purchase one straight from the source from the online Nintendo Store. $10.00 is the asking price in the colors red or white.

Act as fast as you can if you can afford to do so. All dollars are U.S. and all links are for North American purposes. This is the internet so search around to find Wii Nunchuk deals in your part of the planet. One thing is for sure: New Wii games and accessories will surely be harder to come by as the years continue to pass.

Well, that will be it for this Public Service Announcement. I hope you have fun chucking in the coming days, months, and years with your brand new Wii Nunchuks.

This is Walpaie Gamer, the Nintendo Archiver, signing out.

HAPPY GAMING. EVERYONE!
