#BlogapieGamer | Check out My Hard Drive Storage

Welcome to another #BlogapieGamer, a gaming blog series that chronicles a behind-the-scenes look at my creative career.

#BlogapieGamer | Check out My Hard Drive Storage

Today, I want to show you the hard drive I purchased.

I bought a Western Digital 4tb External Hard Drive from Best Buy. I decided to buy one of these the moment I decided to take my creative career seriously. I knew if I was going to start making videos, podcasts, while taking tons of pictures, I would need some serious storage. Enter, 4tb.

I was even thinking about going higher: 6tb. But my budget only allotted for 4tb, and that has been fine so far.

I use it primarily as a backup for all of my raw video files (the files I record straight from the source–Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Steam). Transfer speeds seem okay and the exterior quality of the device is sturdy and durable. Besides it being a finger print/small scratch magnet, it works as advertised. Western Digital has yet to fail me, and I am happy of my storage purchase.

I would recommend a high capacity hard drive for anyone looking to get into making gaming videos or any type of media intensive career/hobby.

Thanks for reading and taking a look behind the scenes with me. See you next time!

The Silver Lynel | GAME JOURNAL

The Silver Lynel | GAME JOURNAL

Paralyzed by the beast’s attack, Link wondered why he wandered into the Coliseum Ruins in the first place. But he would not have much time to contemplate such matters. The horned creature roared, preparing a fatal blow that would finish the grounded Hero of Time with ruthless aggression.

~Moments Earlier~

The Coliseum Ruins came into view when Link made yet another successful paragliding trip. He climbed the rocks and made it to solid ground in hopes of finding a Korok, a rare weapon, or something special.

But when he rounded the corner, something in the distance saw him before he saw it. Link stood still as he made out the silhouette at the far end of the dilapidated coliseum. His heart skipped a beat. It was the most dangerous of all creatures: A Silver Lynel.

Link did not show fear nor did he hesitate to run into battle. He charged forward only to exchange arrow shots with the beast, hoping to cause as much damage with regular arrows before the creature could do the same to him.

The hero moved closer and took aim at the beast’s weak point: The center of the Lynel’s head. This, however, only served to anger the Lynel into drawing its blade.

Link withdrew from close quarter combat and unleashed a flurry of fire and explosive bomb arrows into the beast as fast as his hands could let the arrows fly.

The visibly damaged Lynel charged at Link with its blade arched in the air in preparation of cutting the hero in half.

Paralyzed by the beast’s attack, Link wondered why he wandered into the Coliseum Ruins in the first place. But he would not have much time to contemplate such matters. The horned creature roared, preparing a fatal blow that would finish the grounded Hero of Time with ruthless aggression.

The battle waged on throughout the day. Link used his skills and dodged the beast’s blade and countered with even more arrows and strikes of his sword. And eventually . . .

. . .the Hero of Time stood the victor. And although he did not find a Korok in the Coliseum Ruins on this day, he did find treasure and an epic encounter with a Silver Lynel.

Thanks for reading, and I will see you next time.

#BlogapieGamer | My Amiibo Shelf

I vowed to show my friend the awesome power of amiibo. There was no better way to do so other than showing her my humble amiibo collection. There are about twenty eight amiibo pictured, and my collection has grown ever since (and growing). Amiibo are prefect collectibles to line my gaming shelves, and they are useful in the games I play. I just can’t wait to add more to the group.

#BlogapieGamer | Pokken Tournament Pro Pads Are Cool!

Hello, everyone. Walapie Gamer (the Nintendo Archiver) here with another wonderful #BlogapieGamer post!

If you haven’t heard by now, the Nintendo Switch was updated to version 3.0. Check out the list of features at the link. The most important one to me is the ability to use the HORI branded Pokken Tournament Pro Pad.

Yes. Those controllers that used to work exclusively for Pokken Tournament for Wii U, and the upcoming Pokken Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch, now work with any game on the Nintendo Switch (some better than others; more on that in a second).

The only thing a Pokken Pro Pad needs is an available USB slot and WHAM! Games just work.

Of course, the Pokken Pro Pad does not have analog sticks and two of the shoulder buttons have been relocated to the center of the controller, but for games that require more of a Super Nintendo controller setup–four face buttons and two shoulder buttons–this controller works wonders.

Disgaea 5 Complete and King of Fighters ’98 work perfectly. The Directional Pad is big and solid and helps with movements in both games and awesome diagonals in the latter (which is important for a fighting game).

Overall, the Pokken Pro Pad is simply a sturdy controller with great build quality, nice big buttons, and a lengthy cord. It is a great retro focused controller.

I bought the standard version during Black Friday last year but went ahead and purchased the Pikachu edition the moment I read the 3.0 Switch update allowed the controller to be used.

I was really itching to get a new controller so I could play Puyo Puyo Tetris and the NEO GEO retro/fighting game catalog with more finesse and the Pokken Pro Pad helped me do so. I give my Bucket List approval for this nifty device.

Thanks for reading and see you next time, gamers!

Amiibo Hunter | The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Bokoblin

Amiibo Hunter | The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Bokoblin

Bokoblin Officially Hunted!

A wild Bokoblin appeared. On Amazon.

Well, I did see one in the wild at my local Target. Exactly one, to be exact. No more no less. It was hanging out with a gang of unsold Animal Crossing amiibo, waiting to be plucked by a true Zelda fan or amiibo collector. Luckily, I am both.

I even picked up the Bokoblin and carried it around with me, but I ultimately put it back in the name of being financial responsible. That is life, but I vowed to buy this little gremlin-goblin as soon as I could.

Flash forward three months later and over 200 hours played in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I wanted to snag this amiibo bad. Taking a trip to Target, Walmart, and Best Buy all ended with me being empty handed. But then, what happened to appear at a decent price on Amazon? This–

Yup. My very own Bokoblin amiibo at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (M.S.R.P.), too.

Just look at it.

LOOK AT IT!

Scary.

Even scarier? The price on Amazon jumped about fifty percent days after I bought mine. Geez. That was a close call.

Check out the rest of the pics from this amiibo pictorial on my Flickr page.

Thanks for reading and see you next time!
