MORE FUN WITH SOLITAIRE:

Solitaire (also known as Patience or Klondike) is a game my mother taught me at a young age and it has stuck with me ever since. It is one of my strongest, positive bonding moments with her, sitting side by side, her helping me figure out what to do next.

WINNING SOLITAIRE:

Using my logical brain, I have analyzed hundreds of turns but only beat the game a handful of times. Because my winning percentage is quite low, it is such a rush whenever I do win. Often times, the card I was looking for would be stuck, buried in one of the piles I had no access to.

Which meant the game ended there. But that only encouraged me to play a second game and a third. That is not a problem when the game is such a fun, easy to set-up game.

Give it a try and you will most likely find yourself focused on the game, free from thoughts of your daily life. This game has always been a great, healthy form of relaxation and escapism . . .

The following information comes from Backlog and Bucket List Gaming ISSUE 2:

ALL ABOUT SOLITAIRE:

I would look at every third card in the remaining deck and just hope I get something I needed. Sometimes, I would get just the right card while other times I would get that pesky second and third Queen or Jack that I just could not use.

FUN WITH SOLITAIRE:

But even then, the game tested my brain by having me analyze the playing field each and every turn.

As an adult who loves logic and strategy games, looking back some twenty plus years after learning how to play Solitaire, I think that is why I was originally drawn-in . . .

Why Solitaire Is A Bucket List Game (Part 2)

SOLITAIRE is a certified Bucket List game that everyone should play before he or she “kicks the bucket”.

The following information comes from Backlog and Bucket List Gaming ISSUE 2:

SUPER ENGAGING SOLITAIRE:

The game itself is engaging as well, matching cards of alternating colors and by suit order to eventually have all cards out on the table. Then it is time to move all of the cards onto four piles placed aside by suit type and order starting from Ace to King.

FUN WITH SOLITAIRE:

It’s a simple game, but remembering the suit order was the part my child self needed the most help with.

Once I understood the King-Queen-Jack hierarchy, the rest was smooth sailing . . .

FUN WITH SOLITAIRE:

Starting the game was easy enough; it was always a fun, simple joy that still resonates with me today.

I would grab my mom’s deck and stack cards to set up the game—one card must be placed face up then six face down in six separate piles next to it, then another card is placed face up on the second pile and five face down on the remaining five piles.

I repeated this until all seven piles had face up cards with the remaining deck in my hands. For some reason, setting up Solitaire is such a calming and fun experience . . .

The following information comes from Issue 1 of Backlog and Bucket List Gaming:

THE POKEMON GO BRILLIANCE:

The idea of completing a collection of pocket sized animals, that are all around us, by using a device that most already have while doing things we have to do anyway (a long commute, train ride, etc.) is brilliant.

Why not make that hour-long trek to work fun by catching yet another Pidgey or that uncommon pocket monster? You might as well, because you’ll need as much Pokemon to transfer to the Professor in order to accumulate as many Pokemon candy as you can get.

THE POKEMON GO CRAZE:

If you are wondering what the craze is all about, wonder no more. People like Pokemon. For twenty years, kids who have since grown into adults have always wanted to catch Pokemon in the real world. It is exactly this contagious excitement that has spread from Pokemon fans to non-Pokemon fans and curious coworkers and family members alike.

WHY POKEMON GO IS A BUCKET LIST GAME:

The nature of the app has also helped this global phenomena to happen—Pokemon GO is free-to-play and to keep on playing, it is on both the Apple and Google stores, and a large number of mobile devices can run the game.

A fun free game with low barrier to entry that delivers an experience millions of people around the world have been waiting for? Pokemon GO didn’t have a chance of not being popular.
